Every child's bedtime nightmare is brought to life in this,
the second ad in the latest campaign for Bank of Ireland,
which focuses on interviewing mythical Irish creatures.
A spiky eared, big googly eyed 'manimal' is loitering about
under a bed, amongst toy boxes and scuttling spiders, waiting
for his moment to spook an unsuspecting child. It turns out
it's all getting a bit cramped under there for him and his
equally scary looking wife and frankly they could do with
a 'bigger gaff'. This won't be a problem with a Bank of Ireland
mortgage.
The Bogeyman character was built in 3d from drawings proved
by director Rory Kelleher. Originally based on a strange little
creature called a Tarsier, modifications were made to allow
the Bogeyman to talk and engage in a more endearing way. A
lengthy modelling process was embarked on to get the look
of his furry skin just right while the facial expressions
and lip-synching was worked on in tandem. Further challenges
included matching the velvet of his 3d arms and hat to the
velvet of his live action coat. The feathers around his head
were also added to in 3d and the background characters were
worked up to a similar level. |
