This stunning feast for the eyes from Warren and Nick at Wanted demonstrates a perfect combination of live action and computer generated effects.

The short, sharp strains on orchestral strings and a deep drum roll at the start of the commercial seem to warn us that we're in for a treat. Dazzling lighting effects dance around the car, bouncing off its bodywork, perfectly matched to the BMW's movement and beautifully choreographed to a reworking of Beethoven's extraordinarily powerful 9th symphony. The viewer is left to absorb what they have just witnessed as the tagline silently appears: 'See how it feels'.

Unsurprisingly, this was an intricate project, both in production and post. Firstly, cars were shot in a variety of lighting setups in the studio. Laser artist Chris Levine shot lasers at the car creating nebula and hard graphic light on the bodywork. Dayton Taylor's Timetrack rig was used for shots such as the spark tunnel and the glitter car. Light paintings were also shot using the rig.

Overall the in camera effects were stunning and were a great base for the post production. A 3D particle code developed at Glassworks was used to create amazing light trails and 3D nebula. The digital effects were never meant to overpower the piece so great care was taken in keeping the reality in each shot. Extensive clean up on the time slice footage was performed in flame as well as compositing 3D and live action elements.
