Daniel Barber shoots yet another high profile commercial, this time for British Airways. The idea was to show how easy it is to book tickets online and fly with BA.

We see the a slick move from skyline to apartment to aeroplane interior to aeroplane exterior in 40 seconds.

Work started between Daniel Barber and Andrew Daffy on the 3D pre viz a couple of weeks before the shoot so that the motion control moves could be worked out precisely. This enabled the agency and client to visualise how we would move through the different environments and through the back of the plane.

Once the motion control shoot was done and the edit was approved the Finish 2D and Glassworks 3D teams worked together to add the visual effects to the commercial. 3D elements were used to help the motion control transitions which made the slick camera move possible.
Elements included the inside of the exterior wall, fish tank, coffee pot, drinks trolley, fuselage and the exterior CG aeroplane. The aeroplane interior was shot in sections and multiplied in 2D, then a 3D roof section was built and tracked on top.
