Wieden and Kennedy Amsterdam and director Sean Ellis bring
us this violently dramatic piece for the latest game from EA, "Black".
A set of double doors open into a serene room in an Italian
palazzo, filled with beautiful antique furniture and ornaments.
Italian opera starts playing and the camera pans around the
room revealing ancient busts on top of plinths and a grand
piano nestling in the corner.
As the operatic vocal kicks in, completely without warning
bullets shower the interior, pummelling the walls, destroying
everything in their path. The viewer is the gunman, riddling
the room with bullets, annihilating the piano, smashing statues,
doors and bookshelves to pieces. There is a short break in
the mayhem as a screen on the wall allows a sneaky peek at
the game itself, which, too, is promptly destroyed, culminating
in a huge explosion.
The action was shot in one take using three cameras. Duncan
Horn added extra bullets to aid the synchronisation and created
explosions for the last three shots. Glassworks tasks also
involved various pieces of beauty work and build of the packshot. |
