In the latest instalment in the comedic Ford “Dogbot” series, our mechanical mammal once again falls foul of his own stupidity.

As the title suggests, ‘Avalanche’ takes place in frozen climes, outside a ski chalet. Once Dogbot has had a good old root around in the snow he turns to lick his haunches and gets his tongue stuck, ‘Dumb and Dumber’ style on his metal body. In a violent struggle to free himself, he flies through the air and smacks into the building in front of which a shiny red fiesta is parked, causing a mini-avalanche of snow to fall from the roof onto his head and all over the car. Stupid Dogbot.

The Fiesta, on the other hand, is perfectly equipped to cope with these situations with its quick clear windscreen. The offending snow is gone in a flash.

Once again, the Glassworks crew built the fully CG Dogbot. The commercial was animated and rendered in an amazingly rapid three weeks. This time, CG snow had to be created before the whole spot was composited by Ian in Flame.
