On Sunday 30th September classic soap "Corrie" started to
look a little different, with a huge sponsorship changeover
from long standing Cadbury's to the furniture store Harveys.
Glassworks spent eight weeks working closely with Proximity
London and Plunge Films director John O'Driscoll to convincingly
'Bring your Home to Life' in this set of idents, which see
ordinary household objects magically animate in order to get
involved in watching some telly with the rest of the family.
The first set of idents, 'Lounge' shows ducks decorating
the wall come to life and fly onto the back of the family
sofa. A traditonal Buddha figurine shakes himself awake, jumps
off his shelf and thumps down next to an 'Action Man' on the
carpet, who has since rolled onto his stomach and is staking
out the living room with his binoculars.
In 'Bedroom', as a girl cosies down to watch her favourite
show, a mannequin turns towards the screen, a fluffy bunny
and rag doll shift along the bed and teddy pops his face around
the door.
'Kitchen' sees a chicken shaped tea cosy puff into life,
animal magents huddle together on the fridge door and a romantic
salt and pepper pot pair getting cosy, all in prepartion for
their favourite programme.
Each usually inanimate object was built, animated and rendered
by the Glassworks 3D team. They were then carefully composited
into the shots by Aleks in Smoke, which also allowed the edit
to be tweaked once the 3D elements were in place. |
