This completely off-the-wall ad for Lux soap takes
the viewer on a bizarre Phileas Fogg style journey around
the globe.
A beautiful brunette in a bath full of foam, suspended from
a huge pink hot air balloon encourages women around the world
to "Play with Beauty". She floats over rustic cornfields where
utterly enraptured female labourers are inspired to stick
beauty spots on their faces. Her journey takes us to Moscow,
where old Russian crones, totally out of character, cannot
resist a slick of red lipstick. In a Moroccan market, ladies
gaze at their idol in the sky and smear their faces with grains
and spices. This Lux woman is so bewitching that a passing
pilot crashes his plane into a hillside, much to the amusement
of our protagonist.
James and Daniel at Glassworks built the 3D balloon which
was carefully composited in throughout the commercial. Toby
and Sheldon completed crowd replacement and created backgrounds
from stills and live action. |
