Vauxhall make a mundane journey into a synchronised
stunt adventure in this brand spanking new commercial for
their Astra car.
Our protagonist hops into his Astra, throws an unmailed letter
onto the passenger seat and sets off for the postbox. As the
ad's title suggests, we're in for some action, as he drives
off the roof of his abode and flips his vehicle over in mid
air. In a fantastic juxtaposition of music and images, the
action escalates to the smooth strains of 50's crooner Bobby
Darin. He is joined in his journey by more silver Astras which
embark on a stunning Red Arrows-esque choreographed 'dance'
routine, culminating in flying through a flaming hoop.
Our driver completes his journey, landing with a bump next
to the postbox, where, after all his "Astrabatics" he fails
in the simple task of getting his correspondance into the
box itself. The tagline reads "Fall in Love With Driving Again".
For what is obviously a very post-heavy job, the Glassworks'
boys spent a huge total of ten weeks working on the project
in 3D and Flame. |
