A bunch of keen corporate types hurry along a large factory
floor following an unseen entity. Cut to the focus of their
attention: a baby in a business suit being pushed along in
his toy car. Their "baby boss" is leading them to a meeting,
a pep-talk where he extols the virtues of Velvet: "the
stuff my dreams are made of"! He is passionate about his product,
making his employees feel the tissue so they can appreciate
the softness of its three sumptuous layers.
This kid is really clued-up, especially since as a baby he
knows "all about soft and dimpled". Still finding time for
a brief rendition of "The Wheels on the Bus" for his team
and a quick run around with his ball, he is nevertheless the
proud overseer of the Velvet factory, hugging a huge roll
out of sheer adoration.
This is the first commercial in Fallon's new campaign for
Triple Velvet toilet tissue. Directed by Daniel Levi through
Independent, it brings us a whole new, unique face for the
product, which should be a hit with the UK's viewing public.
The ad entailed a huge post production process, which was
undertaken at Glassworks. The Velvet 'baby' was actually an
actress who performed the piece in a paper factory in Prague,
with a fully CG baby's head composited onto her shoulders.
The final product is the result of exhaustive CG and practical
effects, using Glassworks' proprietary software. |
