  • Lead Flame Compositor

    Glassworks are seeking a highly skilled, motivated and creative Lead Compositor for their London VFX studio. This is a fantastic opportunity for those wishing to work with the industry's best directors, on some of the highest profile projects in the industry, together with our award winning VFX team.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Lead compositing and 2d project management, involving compositing of VFX/CGI elements, and the creation and integration of motion GFX.
    • Establishing ‘hero’ looks, and creating templates / set-ups that will be used by the team for a consistency across multiple shots.
    • Reviewing shots ensuring quality and consistency, including technical specifications, file naming and colour space.
    • Providing articulate, helpful feedback to in-house artists.
    • Pitching and quoting for new work, devising clear methodologies outlining your creative approach to a brief.
    • On-set VFX Supervision, with a confident voice and strong problem solving abilities.
    • Solving creative problems using simple, efficient techniques, sharing ideas with teammates and iterating rapidly based on client notes.
    • Contributing to the development and evolution of the composite pipeline and workflow.
    • Managing, mentoring and training junior artists in your teams.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with clients.
    • Confidently engage with clients in pre prod meetings offering advice & solutions on how to achieve best results.
    • Ability to react to changes efficiently and meet delivery deadlines.

    Required experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years experience working as a compositor in TV/Commercials and/or motion pictures, plus at least 2 years of experience working as a Lead/Supervisor.
    • High level working knowledge of Flame. Preferably 2016/17.
    • Experience working directly with and interfacing with clients.
    • On-Set supervision experience.
    • Demonstrated experience implementing fast, effective solutions to shot production challenges.
    • Strong communication and team leadership skills.
    • Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
    • Ability to be engaged with multiple projects at the same time.
    • Ability to work in a high pressured and evolving environment whilst still delivering top quality results.

    Desirable experience:

    • A working knowledge of Nuke.
    • An interest in art and photography.
    • Python programming/scripting knowledge and abilities.
    • Experience writing tools and gizmos for Nuke.
    • Knowledge of 3D software packages such as Maya/XSI/Houdini a plus.

  • Houdini Freelancers

  • Junior Compositor

     

    We have an exciting position available for a Junior Compositor at Glassworks London.

    Key Duties Include:

    • Compositing of VFX elements, creation and compositing of motion GFX
    • To assist our Lead Artists on large VFX projects
    • To handle online work on smaller jobs independently
    • To manage conforms, data, artwork and archiving of projects

    You have:

    • A desire to become a leading Senior Compositor at an international award winning post production VFX facility
    • Ideally a minimum of 4 years VFX industry experience is required
    • Experience in using Nuke
    • Exposure to Flame / Smoke or Flare will be beneficial but not essential to apply
    • Critical eye for detail
    • Strong communication skills

  • Senior Producer

     

    To meet the increasing demand for our award winning VFX and CGI animation, we are pleased to be expanding.

     

    We are looking for an experienced, knowledgeable and personable Senior Producer to join the Glassworks London team.

     

    Key attributes / responsibilities :

    • An ideal minimum of 6 years experience independently estimating, scheduling and producing commercial VFX projects

    • Detailed understanding of contemporary post / VFX techniques and practices including complex CG workflows

    • Comfortable hosting internal and external meetings with clients

    • Leading a large team of VFX artists, managing complex projects from concept through to delivery

    • Multitasker with a keen eye for detail and proven organisational skills

    • Good listener and leader who is comfortable instructing and delegating to junior members of the team

    • Ability to step-in onset and act in an post supervisory role is a bonus, but not essential

  • CG Lead Artist / Designer

    We are looking for a Project Leader on large CG projects. The CG artist / designer gives each project his personal stamp in look development and design. Makes the project unique and recognizable in a way that goes beyond purely great crafting.

     

    Essential Skills and Experience:

    • Can present a portfolio of great cg projects where he/she was heavily involved in the overall outcome (as director, art director or designer) These projects ideally also involve characters and creatures.

    • Experienced 3D lead artist. Skillset also includes modelling, basic animation and rigging.

    • Using Maya, Softimage and/or Houdini.

    • Overall strong sense of style, look and design.

    • Good cg compositing knowledge in Nuke to set up looks.

    • Very strong rendering skills in (ideally Arnold / Redshift).

    • Ability to create style frames, treatments and storyboards.

    • Film-making knowledge. Can create animatics and shape the project in the early stage.

     

    Bonus experience:

    • As a bonus sculpting skills (zbrush) for fast concepting.

    Glassworks Amsterdam is looking for a very strong (character) animator with at least 4 years experience.  Flexibility to work in different 3D packages - including Maya and Softimage.

     

    Essential Skills and Experience:

    • Great sense for timing and movement, facial expressions and lip sync.

    • Knowledge about camera work and animatic animation.

    • Good rigging skills.

    • Able to help with modelling and basic understanding of rendering and shading.

     

    Bonus experience:

    • A bonus would be traditional 2D animation and drawing skills.

    • Experience with motion capture and camera tracking.
